and why Im gonna forever be in debt to the US government

Not rich, not poor.
Not popular or smart.
Not well-behaved or well-mannered...
Overly confident but unmotivated
Boy-crazy, hard-headed, independent
Self-raised since 16.
Left hometown after high school.
College was wild, as it should be.
Moved to Florida to begin my career in 2007.

Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale was an expensive private school, but it had the forensic psychology program I wanted. From the beginning, my goal was to work as a psychologist in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. I wanted to work with people who had committed serious violent offenses, support reentry, and help prevent future violence.
During graduate school I also worked in private practice and quickly fell in love with the independence. I worked with battered women in the Broward County Jail and with juveniles in detention, all of which was deeply meaningful. I spent time in courtrooms watching how the legal and psychological systems overlapped and affected people’s lives.
Eventually I landed my first-choice internship at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute, Indiana, home to the only federal death row. The experience was life-changing: exhilarating, thrilling, depressing, and ultimately disappointing. I witnessed significant racism within the BOP and was viewed by some staff as an “inmate-lover.” I realized this was not an environment where I could thrive or create the kind of change I believed in; any effort to do so would likely be long, exhausting, and ultimately unsuccessful. After a short time working in the probation/jail department of the Houston, Texas jail system, I returned to private practice.
Once I became licensed in 2016, I accepted a position at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, where I worked with individuals found incompetent to proceed or not guilty by reason of insanity. The work was fascinating and gave me a wide range of forensic and clinical experience. After a few years, I started my own private practice and began building the career I have today.

I’m most energized by work that sits where psychology, technology, and real life meet. I’m especially interested in virtual reality, mindfulness, biofeedback, and “vibe coding” apps that help people better understand their own minds and bodies. I care deeply about violence and gun laws, and how systems respond to risk and trauma. Clinically, I enjoy assessments and complex cases, especially ADHD and co-occurring issues. Outside the office, I’m drawn to art, painting, and plants, and I’m passionate about the thoughtful, science-informed use of cannabis and psychedelic medicines in mental health care.
1. Gender Equality
Fighting for a world where women are respected, paid, heard, and free. Challenging patriarchy in courtrooms, bedrooms, and boardrooms—every damn space.
2. Consent Culture
Redefining sex, safety, and relationships through mutual respect. Consent isn’t optional—it’s the foundation. From kink to court, real power starts with "yes."
3. Mental Health & Justice Reform
Ending the criminalization of mental illness. Advocating for smarter, trauma-informed systems where mental health care replaces punishment, and prevention replaces reaction.
4. Sexual Empowerment & Ethical Porn Use
Promoting pleasure with purpose. Teaching how to reclaim sexuality, build healthy habits, and break free from compulsive use—without shame, without silence.
5. Legalization & Education of Medicinal Plants
Advocating for access to nature’s original medicine. Centering cannabis and psychedelics as tools for healing, not criminalization. Deconstructing stigma with science, history, and bold public education.
